Why is this information important to us?

🌿Delayed cord clamping.
if we leave that cord alone until it’s white and no longer pulsing we have given that baby all of that highly oxygenated blood.

🌿understanding how our baby transitions from utero to world.
Once baby is born it might take them a second to go through the process of expanding their lungs for the first time to take that breath and close those shunts. That’s okay! They’re going through a major shift as well as mama.

🌿when baby is having a hard time making this adjustment the best thing we can do for them (in most cases) is keep them attached to their umbilical cord & skin to skin with mama.
