Birth is not a spectator sport

When you are considering inviting people into your birth space ask yourself what role they serve for you or your family. If they are there because you feel obligated or don’t want to hurt their feelings, that doesn’t usually end well in my experience.

✨Does their presence alone bring you peace or joy?
✨Do they come prepared to assist with siblings or animals?
✨Do they support your decision making (midwifery care, newborn plans, etc)?
✨Could you imagine yourself going to the bathroom in front of them?

Distractions in labor can hinder progress so be wise about who you invite into your birth space. ❤️
