As a postpartum doula I have found these 3 components to be the most valuable when it comes to a positive postpartum experience. Keeping mama nourished, hydrated, rested, and well loved & comforted is key to how mama gives care to her baby.

We can’t keep neglecting postpartum mamas of care. We can’t just cut them off once baby arrives. They are more prone to anxiety and depression, slower healing, more struggles with breastfeeding, more struggles with basic newborn care, and so much more. We see it time and time again that mamas NEED to be taken care of after they have a baby. Support should be a non-negotiable when it comes to postpartum healing❤️‍🩹
