Seva Ayurveda

I’m Seva, an Ayurvedic practitioner, bodyworker, Educator, Author, and retired holistic midwife. My work centers on supporting women through the profound transitions of birth, postpartum recovery, and motherhood through the time-honored wisdom of Ayurveda. My passion began during my years as a holistic midwife, when I witnessed firsthand how deeply a mother’s experience of birth and postpartum care can shape her well-being. I came to understand that birth is not simply an event, and postpartum care is not simply recovery. These are sacred transitions that deserve time, nourishment, skilled hands, and a community that knows how to care for the mother as well as her baby. Today, I bring that understanding into my Ayurvedic postpartum care practice, offering nourishing meal preparation, Marma therapy, restorative bodywork, and education for doulas who want to integrate Ayurvedic principles into their own practices. What I love most about being a birth worker is the privilege of witnessing women in their strength, vulnerability, and transformation. There is something deeply meaningful about creating a space where a woman feels seen, supported, and cared for without having to ask for it. I believe that when we nourish the mother, we strengthen the entire family. My hope is to help revive the traditional art of postpartum care so that mothers are not expected to simply bounce back, but are given the time, support, and nourishment they need to truly replenish and thrive. What sets my work apart is the integration of traditional Ayurvedic practices with my background in midwifery and specialized training in Marma therapy. I also offer educational programs for doulas and postpartum caregivers, sharing practical Ayurvedic tools they can incorporate into their own work. My approach honors the time-tested tradition of caring for the mother as a foundation for family and community well-being.
