Roxanna Maurer-McEwen

Hi, I’m Roxanna, founder of MentorBirth and a retired midwife with 30 years of experience supporting women and families through birth. Over the years, I became increasingly passionate about what happens beyond the birth plan—how communication, preparation, and the support a mother receives can shape how she experiences birth, even when things unfold differently than expected. That passion eventually became MentorBirth, a communication and mentoring framework for doulas, midwives, and other birth professionals. What I love most about birth work is witnessing women discover their own strength and helping birth professionals become a steady, resourceful presence beside them. There is something incredibly meaningful about supporting a mother not only toward the birth she hopes for, but helping her remain grounded, informed, and resilient through whatever her birth brings.
