Birthing the Magic Collaborative (BTM) was born from my extensive collaborations with healthcare professionals and executives across some of the nation's largest hospital systems and professional associations. This exposure to the emerging research on the subject illuminated the alarming rates of maternal mortality and morbidity among Black birthing people, fueling my passion for maternal health and reproductive justice. My commitment deepened after a pivotal personal experience during my daughter's high-risk twin pregnancy. Myself, my daughter, and my husband assembled a culturally humble and highly skilled team to ensure my perinatal experience was magical.
