Being a midwife is such a dance. Those that do it will are beloved because they have good clinical outcomes and their clients feel well supported. Through slow and personalized home visits, we build a trust and safety that lends itself to you feeling like you can do whatever your childbearing experience asks of you--because you remember your own capabilities, strength, and knowing. AND you have all the support you need. You believe in yourself and you know your midwife believes in you even when you may have doubts creep in. I strive to be a respectful professional with healthy boundaries. I also connect deeply, honor the sacred, and am compassionately loving and caring. If you know me, you know I have sincere reverence for all that unfolds in pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. That piece is critical. It is felt deep in the essence of one's being. The dance is being an excellent clinician while simultaneously connecting with clients in a way that feels more like friendship. That genuine human connection is the piece we all need to feel like enough, to feel loveable, to feel seen. Connection. It is the antidote to all of the hard, the roughness, the tragic. To feel held throughout pregnancy, labor, birth, and postpartum. It is my intention for my clients to receive great clinical care, and to also be truly seen and heard for who they are. To be supported and accepted AS they are. It is not my job to change you. It is not my job to police you or tell you what to do. It is my job to guide you and support you as needed. This is one of the most sacred seasons of your life, and I believe in treating it as such! I was so lucky to be included as a 3-year-old in my mom's pregnancy and birth of my little brother. She exuded trust in the process and even enjoyment of it--she was embodied and empowered. This was imprinted on me from a very young age. That bodies, birth--they are to be embraced and exalted. This carries into my midwifery care to this day!
