I'm Katelynn! I'm a wife, a mom to two little ones, and a birth and postpartum doula. I live in Utah County and love seeing the mountains from my windows! My road to doula work began when I was pregnant with my first baby. I was scared and didn't know what to expect, so I let my doctor take control of my pregnancy and birth. My mental health was already in poor condition during pregnancy, and it took a nose dive after my baby was born. I thought I would never have another child because of this experience. When I felt well enough to get pregnant again, I wanted a different experience. I chose my provider carefully, and I prepared myself (and my husband) for an unmedicated birth where I was in charge of my body. During my second postpartum experience, I felt I could make decisions from a place of love and intuition, rather than fear and guilt. While it wasn't easy (is postpartum ever?), it was beautiful and fulfilling. The biggest difference between these two experiences was how empowered I felt. My hope as a doula is that I can empower the women I work with to allow themselves access to everything they need during pregnancy and postpartum: rest, nourishment, feeding support, and emotional support to name a few. I hope that when you look back on your experience, you can say that it was a bright beginning to your motherhood journey. I can't wait to connect with you and support you through time of life!
Sleep can tough to come by when you have a newborn, yet it's essential for your physical recovery and mental health. As your night doula, I'll care for the baby while you get a full night's sleep!
As your doula, your physical and emotional wellbeing is my number one priority, which means I take care of anything that gets in the way of that: meal prep, cleaning, baby/sibling care, and more!
