I became interested in supporting people in the birthing year after experiencing tremendous struggles myself. I know the difference good support makes. Over the years, my own medical journeys have led me to pursue a deeper look into what families need to be successful in their feeding goals. I love finding the root cause of struggles and finding sustainable solutions to feeding challenges. Having worked as a postpartum doula gave me deep insight into the whole picture of the postpartum period, the diversity of needs, and the importance of empathy and grace for people who are struggling. I love getting to know babies as people, as well as parents, and helping people enjoy this short period of time, even when things may not be easy. I also love collaborating with other professionals, to build community and a "village" for the families I work with.
Usually done virtually, this is up to 2 hours of prenatal preparation and planning to make an individualized and holistic plan to enjoy the postpartum period while supporting personal feeding goals.
Often covered by insurance, this is a home visit in the Triangle area of NC where all needs will be addressed to make a plan for moving toward personal infant feeding goals and meeting parent needs.
Done via email, this offers the opportunity to discuss lab work that may have been done toward optimizing milk supply.
