Hi loves! I’m Emily Smith, co-founder of RootedBirth Doulas and a certified birth and postpartum doula. I’ve always been a bit of a “birth junkie,” with a deep love for birth, motherhood, and women’s health. My passion for this work grew as I realized how little many women are taught about their bodies—I love helping women feel informed, supported, and confident during such a transformative time. One of my favorite parts of being a doula is witnessing women move through something challenging and come out feeling strong and empowered. I also spent 18 months doing service for my church where I learned Spanish, and I love supporting Spanish-speaking families whenever I can.

Emily was super supportive and caring. I felt confident, heard and cared for. She made sure I was as calm as possible and had what i needed and made sure my nurses were on the same page as me. She also gave me different positions to try and kept things progressing and peaceful. I couldn’t have had a better person help me through something as special and challenging as birth.

I honestly can't say enough good things about my Emily. She brought such a calm, reassuring presence that made all the difference through out my pregnancy and labor. She was incredibly knowledgeable, and provided so much support and guidance to both my husband and I throughout my pregnancy, labor, and even postpartum. She truly helped my husband and I feel empowered and prepared. If you're looking for someone who genuinely cares and will advocate for you every step of the way, she's absolutely the best choice. Five stars aren't enough!
