Elise Teerlink

I believe you and your partner can feel safe, prepared, and empowered during your birthing experience. I cannot take the place of your I serve families in the Utah County and Salt Lake County and specialize in working with working moms and moms who want to break out of perfectionistic thinking. I grew up in the Northwest-- in Renton, Washington and Hillsboro, Oregon. I have a 2 young children and a loving husband who are my inspiration and my whole world. I taught Elementary school in Russia, Idaho, Utah, and Ethiopia. In 2014, I graduated from BYU with my Ed.S in School Psychology and have been working as licensed psychologist in Alpine School District ever since. However, after the births of my two children and interacting with countless pregnant moms wanting advice on how to relax, I have felt undeniably guided to entertain my passion for birth work. I feel that there is a strong overlap between my background in psychology and my work as a doula. Many of the coping strategies and comfort measures I teach as a psychologist are the same as a doula. I love essential oils, bubble baths, long walks/runs, chocolate, sitting on my front porch, and vacationing. I completed doula training at the University of Utah in January 2019, and completed the Curtis Method Hypnodoula training in May 2019. I have a special place in my heart for working mothers. The struggles of working throughout pregnancy, adjusting to life at home while on maternity leave, and the heartache of finding childcare and returning to work, are all very familiar and very real to me. I am passionate about movement during pregnancy, breastfeeding, and baby-wearing.
