Dez Weyburn

Hi, I'm Dez and I use she/her pronouns. I'm a mother of two, have a great love for reading, and consider myself to be a big nerd. I learned what a doula was when I was pregnant with my oldest child in 2012 and knew I needed to explore birth work. I attended my first birth waaay back in 2013. It was close to 40 hours of continuous support and I walked away with a huge birth hangover but knew that I was hooked. I had found my calling and I continue to feel so honored every time I'm invited into a birth space. Ever a nerd, I researched everything I could about birth and breastfeeding. All that research sure came in handy when I was facing postpartum depression in 2014. In addition to therapy, I got connected with the amazing survivors of Powerful Postpartum Support Group - Ogden and was asked to help facilitate the group in 2016. I'm passionate about parental mental health, *especially* in the early postpartum time. In my 10+ years as a doula, I've attended live births from 28- 42 weeks gestation and attended families in the births of their angels as well. I have recently gained a lot of experience in high risk birth which has helped me serve all of my clients even better.
