As a 5-year-old girl, I used to come home after a long day of half-day kindergarten, plant myself on the couch in-between my mom and box of crayons, and watch A Baby Story on TLC. I was completely and utterly enthralled by pregnancy, birth, and babies. If you had access to my elementary school yearbooks, you would notice me as the outlier on the What I Want to be When I Grow Up page where, among the prospective Veterinarians and Teachers, lay my pixie cut, pre-braces-self proclaiming my intention of becoming an Obstetrician. While my life path may have deviated from this decades-old proclamation, winding me through a career in marketing, graphic design, and writing, my passion and interest has only ripened with age. However, instead of now wanting to be the physician running from one room to another, working under the unwavering thumb of a hospital, my true desire is to personally support the women in those rooms in any way I am able. Through laughter, through tears, through intense pain or grief— I will never give up on you, as I have never given up on my passion and awe for birth.
