Despite living in the Information Age, it can be surprisingly tricky to find straightforward, balanced, and trustworthy information about having a baby. It can be harder yet, to make decisions once you have said information. And, it’s nearly impossible to make a decision with confidence (read: without anxiety or guilt). Birthsmarter’s education program is built on three pillars: physiology or how the body functions, the societal context or omnipresent systemic influences, and your personal circumstance or what you’re bringing to the table. Since we cannot predict how your birth or postpartum will unfold, our teaching will enable you to think critically and improvise, rather than follow a set of arbitrary prescriptions that may or may not apply to your situation.
